First, let me just say that there is one single problem with where I live -- and probably where all of you live as well.
The Parents.
They are terrible. Well, not all of them, but certainly many of them. It drives me crazy. The kids are disrespectful, loud and obnoxious. And their parents are just glad to get them out of their hair for a while.
Enter Mama Rock's Rules. Chris Rock's mother, Rose Rock, uses a high-energy tone of writing to tap into what your doing now and how that might affect the future. One example of this is letting your toddler hit you because it's cute.
I wish I could give a copy of this book to every mother and father within a mile of my house. Would that be rude?
But, seriously, there are many parents who need to hear things like, "you're the parent, not the friend."
Truthfully, this really is a general audience parenting book that would serve struggling parents well by helping them understand how their current actions affect their child's future.
I do plan to leave a copy of mine with a local non-profit to loan out to their parents. I suggest you do the same.
